PC Support Training Online
August 29, 2009 by Jason Kendall · Comments
Cisco training is designed for people who wish to understand and work with routers. Routers are what connect networks of computers via dedicated lines or the internet. The chances are that you should first attempt the CCNA. Steer clear of going immediately onto the CCNP for it’s full of complexities – and you need to work up to it to have a go at this.
It’s very probable you’ll get a job with an internet service provider or a big organisation that is spread out geographically but needs regular secure data communications. Both types of jobs command good salaries.

Achieving CCNA is where you should be aiming; at this stage avoid being tempted to do the CCNP. Once you’ve worked for a few years, you’ll find out if it’s relevant for you to have this next level up. If you decide to become more qualified, your experience will serve as the background you need to master your CCNP – which is quite a hard qualification to acquire – and ought not to be underestimated.
It’s so important to understand this key point: It’s essential to obtain proper 24×7 round-the-clock instructor support. Later, you’ll kick yourself if you don’t adhere to this. Beware of institutions who use call-centres ‘out-of-hours’ – where you’ll get called back during office hours. This is no use if you’re stuck and need an answer now.
We recommend that you search for colleges that utilise many support facilities active in different time-zones. Every one of them needs to be seamlessly combined to provide a single interface together with 24×7 access, when you need it, with no hassle. Unless you insist on online 24×7 support, you’ll quickly find yourself regretting it. You may avoid using the support in the middle of the night, but you’re bound to use weekends, early mornings or late evenings.
We can all agree: There really is no such thing as individual job security available anymore; there can only be market or business security – companies can just let anyone go when it fits the company’s business requirements. When we come across growing skills deficits together with escalating demand though, we generally reveal a fresh type of security in the marketplace; driven forward by a continual growth, employers struggle to find the staff required.
The IT skills deficit in the United Kingdom falls in at approx twenty six percent, as shown by the latest e-Skills study. Meaning that for every four jobs that are available across Information Technology (IT), there are barely three qualified workers to perform that task. This single reality in itself underpins why the United Kingdom requires many more new trainees to enter the Information Technology market. Quite simply, seeking in-depth commercial IT training over the years to come is most likely the greatest career move you’ll ever make.
An effective training course package will also offer wholly authorised exam simulation and preparation packages. Often students can get thrown by practising exam questions that aren’t recognised by official boards. Often, the way questions are phrased can be quite different and you should be prepared for this. It’s a good idea to ask for exam preparation tools so you’ll be able to verify your understanding at all times. Practice exams help to build your confidence – so the actual exam is much easier.
Each programme of learning must provide a fully recognized major accreditation as an end-result – and not a worthless ‘in-house’ diploma – fit only for filing away and forgetting. You’ll find that only recognised qualifications from companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco and CompTIA will mean anything to employers.
Potential trainees hoping to start a career in IT normally haven’t a clue which direction to follow, or even what area to get qualified in. As having no solid background in IT, in what way could we be expected to know what someone in a particular job does? The key to answering this question properly lies in a thorough chat, covering a variety of topics:
* Your personality type and what you’re interested in – which work-centred jobs you love or hate.
* Are you looking to realise a specific aspiration – for example, working from home in the near future?
* How highly do you rate salary – is an increase your main motivator, or do you place job satisfaction a lot higher on your list of priorities?
* Considering the huge variation that computing encompasses, it’s a requirement that you can absorb what’s different.
* You need to understand the differences across all the training areas.
For most of us, sifting through all these ideas tends to require the help of an experienced pro who can investigate each area with you. And not just the certifications – you also need to understand the commercial needs and expectations besides.

Linux Hosting VS Windows Hosting – What's The Difference?
August 24, 2009 by Gregory Ellsworth · Comments
In just about any industry there are always huge debates regarding different products and services. It is exactly the same in the web hosting industry. The debate is simple, which operating system makes a better server: Windows or Linux? There are dozens of differences between Linux web hosting and Windows web hosting. Understanding the differences and taking time to consider them will help you make the right decision concerning your web hosting package.
Linux hosting has, for some time now, been the most popular choice for hosting websites. It is traditionally viewed as the most stable, reliable and efficient operating system for servers, though Windows hosting has begun to make a lot of progress in this area. Both systems have specific advantages and drawbacks that should help determine which server OS you eventually choose.
The most obvious benefit of Linux hosting is the price. Because it is an open source operating system, it is free to the public which makes it the more affordable option. Many of the most popular applications used in web development are also open source, such as PHP, MySQL, and Python, and these programs run especially well on a Linux machine.
Windows hosting, on the other hand, costs more because of its proprietary nature, but it allows you to host any kind of application on the same server. You could use an ASP.Net application backed up by an MS-SQL database behind it, and simultaneously host a PHP blog with a MySQL database to power it on the same server.
Windows hosting started off with a smaller user base, but it continues to grow in popularity. Despite being the more expensive option, many users are choosing it for its familiar interface and compatibility with other Microsoft products. If your site is going to use ASP or .Net applications, a Windows server is the only way to go.
Both Linux hosting and Windows hosting platforms continue to grow and evolve, and they are becoming more advanced and more convenient to use. At the same time, they are becoming more specialized in how they can be most effectively used.
Since both the Linux hosting and Windows hosting platforms are still growing and evolving, they are both becoming more advanced and more user friendly. One the other hand, each of them are starting to become more specialized in how they are meant to be used.
Linux development is an ongoing process by a huge community of users. Some people have been hesitant in the past to use an open source operating system because of a perceived lack of support, but now, thanks to the growing community of Linux developers, a user can quickly and easily find the help and support they need, or an application for almost any situation.
Are you confused about the extreme differences between Linux hosting & Windows hosting? Don’t worry your little heart, most people are! I am hoping that now you can make an educated decision on which one is right for you.
Keep These In Mind When Choosing A Web Host
August 21, 2009 by Mike Willingham · Comments
Choosing a web host isn’t the easiest thing to do. If you aren’t careful, you might find yourself in a nightmare situation with a host that doesn’t provide quality service, respond to technical support requests, or provide solid up-time for your website(s). There is a huge selection of companies providing web hosting services, and to someone unfamiliar with the industry, it’s very easy to end up with the wrong provider for your needs. Here are five tips to hopefully get you pointed in the right direction.
1: Define your needs. девки поймали парня и заставляю его лизать пизду If your web site is a small or medium-sized informational site with a few graphics, it will require less disk space and bandwith than a multi-product, e-commerce site will. If your site uses a specific programming language such as PHP or ASP.NET, you will be required to use a web host that offers hosting in that particular language. If you plan to sell online, your host must include e-commerce security and shopping cart functions. Knowing what to look for will help you find a suitable web host.
2. Bandwidth. Your website will generate traffic. The amount of traffic that is driven to your website will determine how much bandwidth you will need. If you are a small business owner or have a personal website, a small amount of bandwidth, such as 5 MB, should be enough. To stay competitive, many web hosts now offer unlimited bandwidth. If you foresee heavy traffic to your site, ensure you read the fine print to avoid overage charges because unlimited usually has restrictions.
3. Windows vs. Linux Servers. This issue is a little more advanced, but it can still apply to many people. Lots of web hosting companies only focus on providing Linux or UNIX operating system-based servers, which may or may not include the ability to run scripting languages like ASP. If you know that your website will require applications often associated with Windows platforms, don’t assume it’ll be compatible with any random host. Check to see if they offer Windows hosting first.
4. Secure Server.
If you will be selling products or services on your website, it is essential that your website offers a secure server (SSL.) A secure server ensures that personal information collected through your website is safe from hackers.
5. Payment Plans. Web hosts offer monthly, quarterly or annual payment plans. Oftentimes the annual rate will be less expensive overall than the monthly or quarterly plans. Ensure that you research the various rates offered and select the best price from the web host that supplies all of your requirements.
So there you have it. Those tips should have you well on your way to becoming a safer shopper when it comes to purchasing your new web hosting service. Just remember, if there’s anything you’re unsure about with a particular host, just keep moving, because the choices are nearly endless! Good luck!

Protecting A Network Using Honey Pots
August 12, 2009 by Albartio Pheung · Comments
These days it’s possible to feel completely confident about hacker attacks as long as you have the most effective security in place. But what is the most effective security? How do hackers work? How can you feel completely confident?
If you want to know, read on.
In order to attack someones network, you will need to know as much as you can about that network, so gathering as much information as possible is pretty much where they all start. The information can be technical or non-technical, for example, the partners of the target can be useful for them to know, the location of all office branches etc. This information can help hackers understand the possible technologies in place to stop them.
Technical information may contain IP addresses in use, services available, etc. More services running on servers means more entry points. More entry points make it easier to get access.
The more services running on servers means more points of entry for the hackers. For example, if you saw that server A only had port 21 open, but server B had 7 different ports open, then server B is the clear choice for entry because each open port is an entry point and you get full access if you can bypass the security to one port entry point, so the one with more options would be the clear choice.
Now what if I deployed SERVER-B just to grab your attention, distracting you from some meaningful server SERVER-A. I may install a (fake) server SERVER-B for hackers to attack so as to safe guard my production servers, as soon as they start I can now study attack patterns. Is it not a brilliant idea? That’s called the honey pot.
Basically, what a honey pot is is effectively a trap designed to detect, distract and generally counter attempts to hack into your servers. Usually its in the form of data or a network that appears to be part of your main system and to contain valuable data, but in fact its isolated and monitored.
A honeypot is valuable as a surveillance and early-warning tool. It can carry risks to a network, and must be handled with care. If they are not properly walled off, an attacker can use them to break into a system. Honeypots can be classified based on their deployment and based on their level of involvement. Based on the deployment, they can be classified as:
Production Honey Pots and Research Honey Pots
Production Honey Pots: These Honey Pots are used mainly by the bigger companies and corporations in order to increase their overall security. They are easy to use, and only capture a small amount of information which would be useless to a hacker.
Research Honey Pots: These are run by volunteers or an educational organization to simply gather information about how hackers work, their motives and tactics in order to create better protection from them.

How To Clean Out Your Windows Registry
The Windows registry is one of the most important parts of your computer. This database holds information about every program on your computer.
Clearly, the state of your PC’s registry has a large impact upon its efficiency. An overpopulated or corrupt registry might very well be the reason your computer operates badly or takes forever to boot up. A disorderly registry can also often cause fatal crashes which can cause harm to your computer system.
The most effective way to fix the registry is manually. Regrettably, this is also the most dangerous and time consuming way. Screwing up a single entry within the enormous database could result in fatal errors to your PC. Your entire computer will fail if you cause the registry to fail. Don’t look toward reinstalling Windows or reformatting your computer if you are noticing a slow-down or constant crashing; clean out your registry!
To look through the computer’s registry, simply go to run and type in REGEDIT. If you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t bother going anywhere near this program. Causing irreparable damage to your computer should be the last thing on your list to do. This is the main reason behind the invention of a registry cleaner; clean out your registry so you don’t mess it up.
Prior to using either a registry cleaner or trying to manually edit the registry, you’ll want to create a system restore point. A system restore point permits you to restore the PC’s settings to what they were when the point was created. Many registry cleaners will do this for you; another benefit of employing a registry cleaner program as opposed to manual cleaning.
Downloading the free report aptly named “Registry Cleaning”, is highly recommended. This report not only explains what the registry is, it explains how it works, and how it has been cleaned previously. Your computer can be in extreme danger, without cleaning your registry. you’ll want to clean out your registry soon, if you don’t want to lose control of your PC.
Registry cleaners are the most effective, as well as the most secure way, to clean out your PC’s registry. The free downloadable report explains how registry cleaners work as well as how to utilize the software properly. You will also learn about fudged, or phony, numbers. These are frequently furnished by registry cleaners to make a user believe the program is doing more than it is in reality. Phony numbers are the most usual device in a scammer’s armory.
You don’t have to take the report’s advice,of course. You could try to manually edit the registry and delete important values, thus making your computer inaccessible. You could also never bother cleaning the registry and have your computer crash more and more often or get slower and slower. Most people, however, don’t want this and would rather spend the extra ten minutes a month to keep their computer running perfectly. Check out the Registry Cleaning report for more information.
