Business Laptop: A Review of the Adamo by Dell

The current trend in the design of laptops and notebooks is that the slimmer, the better. The Dell Adamo is currently one of the slimmest in the market with a thickness of 0.65 of an inch and this has made it better than the current standard, the Macbook Air measuring 0.76 inches. Its full dimensions measure to 13.03 inches by 9.5 inches by 0.65 inches weighing 1.81 kg or 4 lbs.
Adamo is said to be Dells attempt to compete against Apples MacBook Air. The Adamo has a case that is at its peak, only 0.65 inches. This is thinner than Macbook Air which has the thickest point at 0.76 inches. But the decision is merely theoretical for MacBook Air has slimmer front edge than Adamo but, however, has a thicker back part.
The exterior of the Adamo provides the classic look, with an embossed logo of Dell and Adamo at center of a matte strip on a high gloss hard glass front and a metal slab for its rear. The unit comes in two colors, the classy pearl and the onyx. The outer covering piques the interest of the viewer and entrances you to see the capacity of this simple but elegant laptop.
The Dell Adamos 13.4-inch wafer thin 16:9 LCD display is a package capable of the top of the line entertainment output with its high definition capacity. The LCD has a 720-pixel capacity and option for LED display. The screen has a glassy coating that induces glare but the sharp imagery of the LCD more than compensates for this attribute. Its externals include a compact power adapter for wall socket power sourcing.
Adamo offers two options for its configuration. The higher version has a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and a 128GB disk drive. While other version, which is obviously the second-rate version, is run by a 1.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM, and a 64GB disk drive. The higher version is tagged at $2,699.00. The other is at $1,999.00.

The main problem with the Dell Adamo compared to its contemporaries the MacBook and the HP Pavillion is its battery life. The Adamo provides 40% less battery life compared to its competition, making the unit seemingly an office use computing machine rather than a stand-alone unit.
On the brighter side, Dell includes a one-year warranty on the package called Adamo Premium Service. And if you want a three-year plan warranty, it will cost you $349 more. But its online driver downloads and a special 800 number to call with a wait time of about 2 minutes, this is a good upgrade.
In general, Dells Adamo is a little bit pricey. But if it suits your mood and meets your demands on looks and exterior designs, this ones a great deal.

For you dreadful few who somehow managed to miss the computer revolution of the 1980s, allow me to recap. The desktop computer is a personal computer (PC, get it?) that fits on top of your rickety desk at home unless your desk is too small, in which case its called a tabletop computer. Still with me? Good. Now, desktop computers can come in a range of shapes and sizes, from large vertical towers to small cases that fit behind the monitor to balloon animal desk mounts.
You can interface with this desktop contraption by means of a monitor, which lets you see what the computer is thinking and doing. You can give this desktop a command by means of a keyboard (think typewriter) and a mouse (not the furry kind). Fancy people, or people whom fancy music, have been known to plug speakers into the desktop computer. Ah, the sweet sounds of the Chariots of Fire soundtrack.
Now, breaking from the PC desktop, I would like to make brief mention of those kooks at Apple Computers. They are, and have been for some time, fond of the all-in-one computer. This means the tower or case is built into the monitor. This, of course, saves space (lots of it) and makes for a nice, clean contraption. They’re meant to be more portable, but who in their right mind would carry an all-in-one desktop to the cafe to check on the Cowboys game? Ok, some Cowboys’ fans might.
Now, in the never-ending tennis match between desktops and laptops, you must remember that desktops are easier to maintain and cheaper to repair. Fifteen-love. Laptops, on the other hand, are highly portable (duh). Fifteen-all. Desktop upgrades are easier to manage as all you have to do is pry off the cover, snap in your new piece of hardware, and off you go. Laptops, meanwhile, are highly portable. Desktops enjoy no power concerns as long as they’re plugged in, your’e good to go. Laptops suffer from chronic power shortages and indeed, as long as you keep them plugged in, they’re good to go.
It’s fair to say desktops rule the known world; you just can’t take them anywhere. So what, you say? Good point. So what, indeed. Desktop computers still enjoy the lions share of power, memory, speed, and popularity (though many hipsters would disagree). A desktop is always poised to deliver years of service especially if you piecemeal its upgrades. As Mr. T used to admonish, Don’t be a fool, stick with your desktop computer, fool. Wiser words were never uttered, Mr. T. Ever.
Oh, you desktop computer faithful, gather unto me and proclaim the gospel of superior performance and power. I know the laptop is a temptress, but she is a pale flicker compared to the roaring brilliance of the desktop computers
around us.

Myth 1: You need top of the line computer hardware
Maybe some years ago this might have been true with older computer hardware, but times have changed. When computers were much slower than they are now, the latest version of any computer hardware increased speeds noticeably and allowed new possibilities from your desktop computer.

Various factors play into overall speed. On a purely physical level, upgrading memory is still a fantastic way to get things to move along a little faster. But apart from this the main things that slows things down are the programs and other stuff you have on the computer.
Over time, as more programs are put on and taken off and changed, things get left behind, and things get forgotten. When your computer starts, many things get loaded into memory and each one of those takes that little bit more of the computers resources. When you switch to a new program and don’t remove the old one, the older one will still use resources.
Myth 5: Big brands are the best
Big brands essentially piece together a computer. They pick and choose the pieces to make a computer package. They also choose some software, give a warranty and then sell it to you.
Dell computer company has become well known for its customer service. This is the best part about Dell computers. The downside is there are limited choices. They pick what goes into the computer, which are often quite expensive parts. They are motivated by the suppliers to put more recent parts into their computers, keeping the prices at the same level and maintaining the “to get more, pay more,” mentality.
