This is a hardware problem for old computers. If you have 2 Ram,DDram pieces on the motherboard, you should enter the Bios Setup utility and change the operating speed for your RAM. Set it from Auto to other speeds available but not the maximum speed. For example, if you have 800, 667 and 400 Mhz just choose 667 and you are off the hook.
